Dear Students, Parents, Teachers, Alumnae and Well Wishers,
This is a special occasion and a time of celebration when we commemorate the arrival of the Daughters of the Cross in India, in Mumbai, in Bandra, 150 years ago.I consider it a great privilege to be a member of St. Joseph’s Convent and St. Joseph’s High School at this time.
St. Joseph’s High School, along with other Christian institutions all over the world does not understand ‘excellence’ narrowly in terms of academic excellence or Hi-tech competence only. Along with and beyond these, it will always strive for what is known as ‘human excellence’ focusing on the integral development of the human person especially the girl child. St. Joseph’s aims at achieving this not merely through class room instruction, library and laboratory facilities, excellent as they are in themselves, but also through integrating various co-curricular activities and community service programmes in such a manner as to make the learning system both conform to high academic levels and to serve the needs of society as well.
I would like to mention the developments in the school in terms of information and communications technology. Technology evolves everyday and there is an urgent need to stay updated with it. The world of computers has enabled us to access information at the click of a button, keeping this in mind we have installed EDUCOMP smart classes in the entire school and also NIIT comprehensive education plan in the present academic year.
A child once told her mother :”Love me when I least deserve it, that’s when I need it most.” Dear friends : Love your children for who they are not for what they do.
Thank you and God bless you all!
