This year, we at St. Jospeh’s decided to celebrate History Week in a bid to make History more interesting for the students and to foster a love for the subject. In keeping with this aim the following activities were undertaken by the staff and students.


  1. A walk around Town

A walk around the heritage area of what was once the walled city of Bombay. This activity was undertaken by 5 teachers and 38 students of class 10th on Saturday, August 11, from 7 am – 2.30 pm.

  1. We, the people.

Students of class 9th and 10th were made aware of the Importance and meaning of our Preamble and encouraged to be active citizens of India. The activity was held on Monday, August 13, 2018 from 1-2 pm.


  1. Independence Day Celebrations

On August 15, we celebrated the independence Day with the hoisting of our national flag, patriotic speeches and song.

  1. History quiz

As part of the Independence Day Celebration on Wednesday, August 15, all the students of the school participated in a History Quiz comprising of 10 questions. One winner from every division was given a prize.


  1. Historical character & Chart Competition

The above mentioned competitions were held in school on Thursday, August 16.    Classes 5th to 7th participated in DRESS LIKE A HISTORICAL CHARACTER . Classes 8th to 10th participated in the Chart making Competition.




One winner (class) was chosen from each standard and the entire class was given a packet of sweets as prize.
